I have been running and doing triathlon for what seems like forever. I started running in 1978 and triathlon 1984.

I have worked hard over the years and risen to the top of my age group in both running and triathlon. However most don’t know I have been last in a running event back in the day. I have been last out of the water in a triathlon. I have been dropped and left for lost on my group rides back in the day. I feel all of these experiences make me the coach I am today. I understand all aspects of the event. I have been at the back or sweeper as I call it. I have been in the middle. I have seen the result of hard work to also put me at the front.

So with this, I love as a coach to give back to a sport and community that has helped me in so many different ways in my life. My main focus is health and wellness coupled with an INJURY FREE body. Doesn’t matter your competition level; this is the goal that I practice and teach.

My Coaching Philosophy

My philosophy is based on experience coupled with all the knowledge I have acquired over the many years I have been coaching. My experience allows me to guide an athlete along their journey staying injury free at the top of the priority list. Health and wellness is also right there at the top. Without one’s health they have nothing. No matter the level of athlete, beginner to elite, without health there is not training, taking care of loved ones, no work. With this comes to knowing my clients a little more than just giving them a plan. I am more of a hands on coach getting to know my clients through workouts and workout feedback. Communications is key to reaching goals and staying injury free. It is not about how much is done. Quality vs quantity! It is not how much one does but what is done when doing it.
