7 Reasons Why You Should Attend Triathlon Camp

This one time, at triathlon camp…

With the fond memories from the many Triple Threat Tough Training camps I’ve attended and coached, I want to give you a few reasons why you should consider attending our Arkansas Training Camp in April or Lubbock Training Camp in May.  Or any triathlon training camp for that matter. This is hard-core training at its best and most enjoyable.

Athletes of All Levels Attend
Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a beginner with only one sprint race to your credit, athletes of all ability levels attend triathlon camps. And all workouts will be tailored to the abilities of each athlete so you’re never left feeling intimidated.

Exclusive Focus on Training
Can you imagine spending several days when all you have to worry about is training and not the everyday interruptions of your “normal” life?

Train Your Brain
There’s more to a triathlon than run, bike, swim. At triathlon camp, you’ll learn about mental preparation, race planning, recovery, nutrition, and energy systems. You’re bound to have a few “whoa” moments as you learn that physiological along with psychological needs play an important role in enhancing performance. I even used big words just now to illustrate my point.

24 Hour Access to Coaches
Triathlon camp is like having a personal tutor, only in Lycra. You get personalized and individual attention at all times of the day and night. Well, I don’t recommend waking a coach at 2:30 in the morning to discuss the pros and cons of compression booties. You may end up wondering why you’re the only one doing hill repeats before breakfast.

Hang Out With People Who “Get” You
No strange looks from your friends when you talk about wetsuit chaffing or the pain you get in that certain spot—you know the one—from spending five hours in a bike seat. Not only that, since you’re around people of all abilities and experience levels, you’re guaranteed to learn something new outside the camp curriculum.

It’s Fun
I’ll be blunt. A good triathlon camp should kick your butt all the way to the following month. But you’ll come away from camp energized by the experience, and hopefully ready to set some higher goals for yourself.

Eating
You’re burning up to five digits worth of calories a day so you’re darn right you can eat whatever you want without guilt. What’s not to love about that?

Those are our reasons for attending triathlon camp, especially ours. What are yours? If you’ve been to a camp, what would you tell fellow triathletes to convince them to attend?
